A drop of water . . .

A drop of water lands upon a bee upon a flower,
Its wings are wet, its hair all matted, the pollen turns to glue,
Now stranded atop his prison tower
He wonders what to do . . .

A drop of water lands upon the wing of a butterfly.
It had been flying gracefully but now falls to the ground
and as it spins it tries to try
and think, but just spins 'round . . .

A drop of water lands upon a teeny tiny ant.
the impact of the drop of rain shows him what its like to fly
and as the lesson nears its end, he realizes that he can't
and tries to think of why . . .

a drop of water lands upon my head and i look up
another falls towards my face, my eyes close just in time
a peal of thunder cracks the sky
before the lightning fades away . . .
and as the wall of rain comes down,
as night comes out of day,
I raise my arms up high
and let it wash my thoughts away . . .
